List Building & Forums Work Together

To start off what is a forum? A forum is an online discussion board where members help each other, asking and answering questions and sharing information.

Using forums to build quality list is becoming more popular. At one time, not long ago this was one of the most overlooked aspects of list building.

Lots of times people who don\’t know any better jump into forum discussions pushing a product or their website. This is a No-No.

The key to using the forums is to establish yourself as an expert in your field. Don\’t go in trying to sell something or promote your website. These people don\’t know you there for not trusting you.

Use forums to build and establish trust. Get to know these people, become friends, and help them with as many problems you can, building trust along the way.

Now that we know what a forum is and how to use it we will move on.

To find forums do a search on your favorite search engine entering your keyword or topic followed by forum. This will bring up many forums to choose from.

It\’s time to get into a little grunt work now. We need to become members to 25-50 of these forums.

Now we need to go to the profile section and create a signature. This is very important, our signature is going to have our name and a link to our website,(preferably a squeeze page) and that\’s it. Nothing more.

Next we need to introduce ourselves in the introductory section of the forum. Here\’s where we say hi and tell a little about what we do offline.

Mention a hobby you may have, or something about your job. Be friendly and get to know these folks. Don\’t try to sell or promote at this point.

The next day you are going to return and reply to the welcomes you received from your introduction posts. Be polite and reply with a thank-you, that goes a long ways believe it.

Ok, now it is time to start looking through the posts for unanswered questions that you are able to answer. If you know the answer, give it to them.

Don\’t answer a reply like;

If you buy my e-book you will find all your answers. You don\’t want to do this. Your main objective here is to become an expert, and don\’t try sell at this time.

You\’ll want to continue answering questions on a daily basis. Spend as much time as you can answering these questions. The more quality posts you present, the more there will be an exponential effect that will build.

You are now being seen by many as an expert. And answering them questions makes you just that, an expert. You still want to refrain from putting on a sales pitch. Remember your link is in your signature, if they want to know more they will click your link.

You must be seen as an expert. If not you will never get the click, they won\’t subscribe, and they won\’t buy anything.

If you can continue to give these people quality content and information on a daily basis, builds trust and respect.

Give your readers something that they can walk away with everyday and feel good about it.

Once seen as an expert the more comfortable your readers feel with you. The more posts they read of yours the more apt they are clicking your link. They are very curious at this point.

Remember, don\’t be aggressive in forums. Don\’t mention your website or products. The more posts you make the more clicks you will get.

People new to Internet Marketing often ask me, \”Whats the best way to start in Internet marketing?\”

Im going to tell you a story about myself as a case study.

When I started, I had no HTML experience, and I couldnt put up a decent web page. I sucked at writing copy and I didnt know how to edit audio. I didnt know what an autoresponder series was, I didnt know how to make a redirect, and I didnt know how to approach people properly for a joint venture. I had no idea that list building was where any newbie should start. I think youre beginning to get the point, right? I didnt know anything.

The way that I got focused was to decide what I wanted to accomplish, and I knew that I would get distracted, if it wasnt a big deal.

So I came up with a goal that was massive to get me excited every day, when I woke up in the morning. I wanted to come up with a goal that would be inspiring to potential joint venture partners, too.

The first goal I had in mind was being incredibly successful marketing my attention deficit, self-improvement training online, and I needed to learn how to do that. So, the whole time I was learning marketing, the whole ADD idea was going on in the background for me. I wanted to be the Tony Robbins of attention deficit disorder, but I needed to figure out how to do that.

You can make a link between what youre doing with marketing, with your income, or your life and marketing, too. The question is \”how\” and thats where you have to apply some creativity. The first part is to really identify with what it is youre trying to go for and why it is youre doing what youre doing. Its the big picture here. You need to learn as much as you can about Internet marketing, so that you can achieve what you want to achieve, and it needs to start with list building

I figured that out intuitively. I thought, How am I going to learn about Internet marketing? Make a lot of contacts with self-improvement experts like Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and all those guys in the process? \”Yes,\” I said, Im going to learn about list building because list building seems to me to be at least one of the core skills that a lot of successful Internet marketers seem to have mastered. Sure enough, list building happens to be one of those core skills. In fact, list building is THE core skill.

What I did next was I said, Im going to start list building with List Crusade and the goal is to build a list of a million subscribers in six months or less. Im going to do that and Im going to teach all of my subscribers about list building, as I do it. Thats my goal and Im going to promote the heck out of all of my joint venture partners that helped me get this thing launched by emailing their own lists.

Heres what this has to do with mindset: I came up with a goal that was inspiring to me and it was a huge goal. And I\’m still list building every day because of what I learned. As a result Ive become a super-affiliate for most of the people that I promote.

What Im saying to you is: First, have a personal goal, and then, have a more specific goal, as it relates to Internet marketing, such as list building (which is where any online marketer needs to begin). Then, go after something huge that gets you excited every day and gets other people excited when you talk to them about it. Then, your chances of success are exponentially increased.

Just remember to start by list building, and you\’ll be on your way.

How many times have you heard that the money is in the list?

If you\’re like most internet marketers, more times than you care to remember.\r How do you actually build your list? Isn\’t that the question that really needs to \r be addressed and answered?

If your answer is yes, then you are going to enjoy reading this article. So grab \r a glass of tea or your favorite soft drink and prepare to learn, or at least make \r sure, that you have these processes in place for successful list building.

First, is your opt-in page optimized for the highest visitor to opt-in subscriber \r rates possible? Here is a quick checklist to ensure that it is. 1. Is your header\r attention-grabbing and explain the key benefits of your product?

If it isn\’t, making it so will increase your conversions.

2. Have you included a privacy disclaimer on your webform to ensure your \r visitor that their private contact information will not be sold, shared or rented \r to third parties?

This one little addition will build trust and increase your conversions.

3. Have you identified the features that can be described as benefits to the \r customer and successfully painted a picture of them using and succeeding \r with your product or service and then listed them as five bullet points?

This format has been professionally tested to produce the highest conversion \r rates possible!

4. Have you included at least one photo and image? This also has proven to \r increase conversions.

5. Have you included audio? This can be done for free by getting a free private \r phone line at www.privatephone.com and then using their record a voicemail\r to yourself feature and then checking your messages in your inbox and using \r the inbed a message link feature they have into your web site.

It will now function as the audio on your opt in page where you 1. Welcome \r your visitor, 2. Talk up the benefits and give examples. 3. Include a verbal as\r well as written call to action for them to type their full name and primary email \r address into the webform box.

6. Lastly, have you included testimonies of satisfied customers on your opt in p\r age? The use of testimonies has been proven to increase conversions by up to \r 200%, so if you are not using these, you are leaving your money on the table\r for someone else.

Use these!

By implementing all of the four processes given to you in this article, you will \r see an increase in your opt-in subscribers by at least 300% after the first week!

When I first got started online, the one time offers were very popular. When I first say these, I thought they were gimmicky, and that the conversion rates on those pages would eventually go down. Now, I was building (and still am) a list and a system that I believe has strong value today, but that will also have strong value for many years to come. I do not believe you can build a long term system that will continue to be effective, with gimmicks and others tricks.

Because of that, I decided not to go with a one time offer (OTO), but decided to do something very similar: offer a product of mine on the redirect page my autoresponder supplies to me, where they send my new subscriber once they have opted in.

Instead of indicating that this is the one and only time someone will see this offer, instead I am truthful with them, and generally start the page off with copy like this:

Thanks for downloading my new ebook insert title here. To verify that I am sending your copy of my ebook to the correct email address, I am sending you a confirmation email to confirm your email address. Once you have verified your email address in that email, I will rush your ebook to you.

And at this point I have a sales page for a product of mine.

This allows them to get an offer on this page which is not a OTO, but generally converts very well in fact, in many cases, well enough to pay for the upfront costs of the campaign. Keep in mind that at this point, someone is generally very interested in you and your offerings and in many cases will pay for more information instead of just settling for the free information in your free ebook giveaway product.

Do you belong to list building program? If so I have a question for you. Who are you actually building the list for? Are you building it for yourself or a program owner? The answer to these questions are simple, you are building a list primarily for the program owner. Yes, individuals who you bring into the program are below you and you may be allowed to e-mail them every day but that is very rare. Normally, you can only e-mail to your portion of the list every three days, five days, or seven days. While on the other hand the program owner can e-mail to your list at any time and even several times a day.

Most of these list building programs have a free and a pro membership. You can upgrade to the pro membership, for a monthly fee, and increase the amount of times that you are able to mail to your list. But very few allow you to mail to your list daily. So you see through your efforts you\’re actually building a list for the program owner.

How much is your time worth to you? How much time do you spend daily advertising to build one of these lists? On average, your time is worth approximately $50 an hour. So if you spend one hour each day trying to build your list in essence it is costing you $50 a day to build a list for somebody else.

How many sales have you made off of the list you build? Have you been tracking your efforts to the list that you have built? If not, you will never know your success rate for this list. Is your success rate paying for your time to build the list? If not, then you are in a losing proposition. Again because your time is money!

I understand this issue because I was involved in several of these list building programs. I spent a couple hours each day trying to cultivate individuals to join my lists. Then one day it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was working for somebody else. So from that time forward I stopped using these programs. I now use the time I spent on those list building programs to develop content for my Business Center.

It is up to you, to determine how to use your time and energy in developing your business plan. I do suggest that you evaluate your advertising scheme to see if you can improve your rate of return on your advertising dollars. Make sure to add into the equation your cost of time spent on advertising.

No matter what niche you choose to take part in, you\r will need to use list building if you want to make\r real profits.

So what is niche list building and how do you use it\r in your internet business?

Simply put, you will be adding laser targeted leads\r onto your email list. You then target your offers\r to these leads.

So if your niche is golf swings, then you would be\r sure to build a very tight and targeted list of\r people who are interested in improving their golf\r swing.

Then you would send them valuable content and offers\r on that topic or niche. All of your advertising would\r center around golf swings.

Write and submit articles, place ezine ads, use\r pay per click. Just make sure that your advertising\r is focused and not too general or you will build the\r wrong type of list and will not get the type of results\r you need.

Remember though, you can have many different types of\r products within your niche that can be of help to your\r niche list.

You could also offer your golf swing subscribers, clubs\r that are designed to help with swings.

Don\’t get caught up in the trap of thinking that your\r niche list building campaign only want an ebook, video\r or report.

There might be a number of different products that\r offer the same help. So when building your list, keep\r this mind.

Niche list building is a great way to monetize your\r efforts by simply concentrating on one niche at a\r time.

First off, you have to be non-conventional. Today\’s society is so impatient and on the go, that I think most cannot function without something attached to them that needs a power source. Have you ever timed your family member or friend to see how fast they go through every channel on their satellite dish? Or, do you notice that when people have to wait any amount of time they get very frustrated? Flipping out because they had to wait in a drive-thru for 2 minutes. One born everyday I say.

We live in a time of \”me first, got to have it now, got to go right now\”! People are selfish, so give them what they want to use to your advantage. When people search your sites, blogs, etc. you have to find a way to keep them there long enough to make them reconsider watching \”The Christmas Story\” for the 25th time in the first week of December. Every one has a button. They have something that will intrigue and mesmerize them no matter what is going on around them.

How do you handle people with a .05 second attention span? Find out what it is by watching what people do and say. If you explore traffic exchanges, Internet home business websites, etc. you see more of the same. Online home based business owners have a tendency to copycat instead of coming up with their own creative way to get people to view their home business opportunity. It gets old, monotonous, and people lose track of what they are truly searching for.

People online get bored very easily and that is why they call it \”surfing the web\”. Take a look at what your ads, headlines, and squeeze pages say. Be honest with yourself. Would you look at the opportunity or would you say, \”Man that really bites.\”? Do you even remember what you put on those headlines in the first place?

Online home Internet business is the same as any other business. You have to be able to adapt and change just as any other brick and mortar business does. If they do not change, they fall under. So will yours if you do not do the same. Do you eat the same meal everyday? Why try to feed prospects the same meal over and over again?

Even if you do not have a creative bone in your body, I can bet 99% of you watch commercials and view billboards. Remember the ones that catch your eye and use that as a spoon to mix your creativity pot. Do not copy what others do, but take bits from the best and use them to make yours a little bit better. This will keep online home business prospectslooking at what you have to offer for a little bit longer.

Building a mailing list should be one of your priorities as an Internet marketer. It enables you to follow up on offers closely as many prospective buyers needs time to consider before making a purchase especially if it involves a costly product. Here are some tips to helping you build a huge mailing list.

1. Name Squeeze Pages This type of pages are specifically built to capture your visitors name and e-mail address. They are basically only simple pages with a subscription box and an offer or freebie available normally in the form of an e-book or downloadable software. This method is one of the popular choices because it is easy to implement.

2. Forums Take advantage of the forum traffic. Reply to unanswered questions in the forum and show that you are familiar in your niche. Do not forget to put a link to your subscriber page in the signature box. Make sure you read all the forum rules and regulation before posting.

3. Sales Letter Write a sales letter as if you are going to sell something but at the bottom of it is only a subscription box to your mailing list. Bring up the benefits of your newsletter and present it as if it were a product to sell. You will be actually selling something, which is your newsletter at no cost.

4. Use Pop-Ups Many may not favor this method but it does bring results. Try to keep the size of the pop-up window small and not too flashy. As long as it is a pop-up visitors will notice it anyway. Make sure that your pop-up will be able to close with a simple mouse click.

5. Ads Exchange Contact other newsletter or e-zine and propose for an ad exchange. Make sure your mailing list subscribers and his are more or less of equal size else it would be a one sided deal. Scan through the e-zine providers in the Internet and choose one of the same niche.

6. E-zine Directories Submit to as many e-zine directories as possible. There are paid and free ones available in the Internet. It is good to have a mixture of both to maximize your e-zine exposure to readers. Look thru the search engines and find one that is within your budget.

7. Article Banks Write free articles and submit them to article banks or article directories. At the bottom of each article there is a resource box for the author or contributor. Include a little bio about yourself or your website and most importantly include a link that points to your subscription box.

8. Solo-Ads You can buy solo-ads in other e-zines. Solo-ads are slightly more expensive but worth the attention. The readers only get to see your ads and not any other distracting ads that are around. Make sure your ad is well written with only one purpose, which is to attract subscribers.

List Building is crucial if you want to compete online. Millions of people \r go online everyday and have millions of marketers competing for their \r attention.

How do you capture the attention and dollars of the market? Simple, \r get their first and get their in a way that adds value to them.

How can this be done? Through article marketing, you are supplying \r your reader with pertinent information on the subject that they\’re \r interested in and then have a call to action in the about the author bio \r resource box after the article\’s conclusion to get them to join your list.

What is your product? Depending on your product, you can write the \r article on a subject related to that product and then use the article as \r a screen to filter all visitors to your list or website as prequalified \r visitors because they had to already be interested in what you are \r selling before clicking on the link to see what you are offering or else \r they would have just read the article and gone out about their day \r without ever knowing what it is you are giving them at the other side \r of that link that they could have clicked on.

How many people have literally turned their back on and walked away \r from information worth millions of dollars to them simply because they \r figured that they already knew what was on the other side of a link or\r figured that it wouldn\’t be profitable to them, when in fact it could just \r very well be the expert information of someone who is an expert in the \r subject that can make them obscene amounts of money by just sharing \r the information with them and a call to implement it in the manner prescribed.

This is just one example of how you may structure your article in such a \r way to give the content the compelling copy that it needs in order to ensure \r that your reader is able to satisfy their curiosity by clicking on the link just \r after the last of the article so that they don\’t miss out.
