This is my unvarnished assessment of Brad Callen\’s \”Keyword Elite\”.

More and more people, are using Keyword Elite for their money making keyword research.

Personally, I have used, in the past SEO Elite, Keyword Elite and am, at this time, trying Brad Callen\’s brand new product, \”Affiliate Elite\”. I have found them all perfect for my needs.

Why? Because they all work, for me!

As you all must have noticed, there is so much hype surrounding most products sold on the internet and some of their sales pages appear almost as long as the epic \”War and Peace\”, but Brad Callen always over-delivers on his ever useful products and they well worth their highesh price. Backup has always been first class, so if you\’re stuck, help is soon on its way to you.

At this time, Keyword Elite lists five categories. I\’ll take them one at a time and give you a very brief run down of their points.

1. Create A keyword List
\r 2. Analyze Pay Per Click Listing
\r 3. Select A Keyword List
\r 4. Analyze Keyword Competition
\r 5 Spy On Adwords Competition

Project 1 - Create a keyword list: If you prefer a larger keyword list, Keyword Elite makes it easy. Simply enter a primary keyword, or phrase and choose the search engines. Keyword Elite will generate a keyword list, varying in size from 100 to 10,000 keywords, from Google, Yahoo!, Meta Tags. Plus misspellings, if you wish to include them. WordTracker, or Keyword Discovery, may also be searched, if you have an account with one, or the other. Or both.

A word of warning A very large list, such as 10,000 can take time to generate. Can take a day, or more. This was included to prevent you from being banned, by spacing the queries, as abuse of automatic keyword mining has spoiled it for us. Not to worry though, as you don\’t have to be impatient until the end before starting work on your masterpiece.

Project 2 - Analyze pay-per-click listings: Also childsplay. Just put in your keywords, then find the most suitable of the search engines. Results may take a little while. While waiting, go into Report View and workyour little tail off there. Look at: Searches, KEI, Total results and searches, cost of Adwords clicks. Campaign numbers AdWords, Enhance, Miva and Yahoo. Loads more for you to tnjoy yourselves there.

Project 3 - Select a keyword list: Saves a lot of time. Really a dictionary of keywords and phrases. 40,000, plus, lists will appear for you. Keyword Elite will format your keywords for broad, phrase and exact matches.

Project 4 - Analyze keyword competition: Keyword Elite displays keyword information for the top 10 sites. Great to find Possible partner web sites.

Project 5 - Spy on AdWords competition: Another great way to make more money from your PPC campaigns. Find the best advertisers and rework their advertisements.

In Keyword Elite, you can easily switch over your findings, from one project to another. This, of course, saves you even more time.

An online directory is really a categorical directory. There are three types of these directories and they both serve very similar purposes in being able to deliver information on an abundance of different companies, events and more websites over the World Wide Web.

A Simple Directory
\r The simplest directory allows you to submit your site under a particular category like \’entertainment\’ and will add your site to the directory under \’entertainment\’. This type of directory is sometimes referred to as a FFA (Free for All) directory. Some of these directory sites will use a bit of software verification before adding your site to the list to make sure it\’s not a duplicate and to make sure your site actually exists.

A Monitored Directory
\r The \’Monitored Directory\’ is very different to the simple directory, because they will have a human monitoring the content and making a decision as to whether or not that particular website gets listed. They will normally list your site as it is submitted if they accept you. If you boast a lot about your site you may find that they reject you as the same if you were to use too many capital letters or over use of the same words, try to avoid this if you can.

An Edited Directory
\r The \’edited directory\’ will limit the sites contained in their directory and they will also what they are going to say about your site. They will normally edited or re-write the entire description for your site. For anyone trying to find out valuable information this will be the best resource.

The easiest way to describe an online web directory specific to one area is to imagine something like the yellow pages, but an online version. Whilst a hard copy of the yellow pages may be great, the online directory gives you first hand and up to date news. Keyword Strategies for SEO

Keywords, although they oftentimes receive too much emphasis by so-called \”experts\”, are still an integral part of your overall search engine optimization strategy. Today, we will look at defining the proper keywords for your site and then we will look at putting them into use.

Identifying the Keywords You Will Use

The first step is to identify the keywords you will use. Obviously, these will relate in some fashion to your website\’s overall purpose. You must be careful, however, not to be too broad in the keywords you choose to use.

As an illustration in this article, let\’s say that you run an e-commerce shop that offers novel, up-scale pet supplies and toys. The following keywords would make good choices for your site:

* \”pet toys\”

* \”pet supplies\”

* \”expensive pet toys\”

* \”up-scale pet toys\”

* \”expensive pet supplies\”

* \”upscale pet supplies\”

The following keywords/phrases would not make good choices for your site:

* \”expensive novel up-scale pet toys and supplies\”

* \”online shopping pet supplies toys expensive up-scale upscale\”

There is one simple, basic strategy to use when choosing keywords, and here it is: Choose the shortest amount of words in each keyword and keyword phrase that convey what your website does, while using natural, grammatically correct language. Remember that although someone using Google may use the search string \”online shopping pet supplies toys expensive up-scale upscale\”, you should not use this on your site, as it is not grammatically correct, and would not be understood be real, live people visiting your site.

So the first step is to sit down and identify no more than five to ten (at the most) simple keywords and short keyword phrases that identify the subject matter of your website.

Putting the Keywords into Use

The next step is applying the keywords and keyword phrases you have developed by using them on your site.

Again, there is one big rule here, and it is closely related to the strategy used in developing your keywords: Ensure that your keywords are arranged intelligently on your site so that they are readable by your website visitors and are grammatically correct. As was touched on in the preceding section, this is what the real, live visitors to your website will see, so you want to make sure that they can understand what they are seeing.

For each keyword you have developed, it is recommended that you use it at least five times on each page of your site. Find blocks of text on each page in your site where it makes sense to insert your keywords and keyword phrases. The more, the merrier! (As long as they follow the rules outlined in this article - no blending in with the background, etc.

Finally, one might wish to use search engine optimization tools, such as these, that help you nail down your SEO strategy and are especially good for narrowing your keyword focus.

As you can see, the concept of keywords is pretty simple. It is the implementation of your keyword strategy that can make the difference!

The use of appropriate key words is one of the most important aspects of search engine optimization. Selecting and targeting pertinent key words and phrases is crucial for building web traffic and getting the audience you want for your web pages. Like any other type of advertisement, your key words must be carefully chosen to ensure that you achieve both high page rankings and relevant traffic. Achieving high page ranks is useless if the traffic it brings you is not the right audience. For this reason, many experts believe that the target key word list used for a site can mean either success or failure for a web site or online business.

It is no longer enough to simply choose a relevant domain name for an online business or web site. Choosing the right key words for the site is now equally if not more important. The majority of people who visit a site get there by using a search engine. They will type in two or three words that describe what they\’re looking for, scan the resulting list generated and pick one that seems relevant until they get the answer or product they need. This is where target key words are utilized. Key words are what enable people to find your site; choosing the right key words for your site will ensure the right people find you.

With this in mind, identifying your target audience is the first step in creating relevant key words and phrases. Again, this is not dissimilar to targeting television advertisements. Consider location when you are developing your target market. For example, if you own a used car dealership in Hayward, California, any traffic you get from outside a very specific area is virtually useless to you. Similarly, if you operate an online business that does not ship outside the USA, generating traffic from other countries will not help you make sales. By adding key words that are specific to your location as well as your product, you will better hone into your target audience, improve your rankings, and achieve a better conversion rate, which will help increase your site\’s page ranking, in turn.

Keyword competition should also be taken into consideration when developing a site\’s key word list. Going back to the used car dealership example, let\’s say a potential customer types in the word \”cars\” into a search engine. They\’ll never find what they need, because it\’s far too general-generating around 500,000,000 different sites to choose from. Typing in \”used cars\” generates almost 70,000,000. That\’s still too many to deal with effectively. Using \”used cars Hayward\” generates almost 900,000 hits, and narrowing the focus even further by using the zip code rather than the city name reduces it to less than 25,000.

Choosing key words for your web site works the same way. If your key words are too general, your target audience will never find your site, because the search terms generate so many web sites that it is impossible to look through them all. However, if you go too far in the opposite direction and use too many key words, or key words which are too specific, you risk losing business as well. The best key word phrases are no more than three words in length.

So how do you choose the right key words? The first step is brainstorming with colleagues, friends or an SEO professional, to come up with a list of 20 or more appropriate key words. The Google Keyword Tool is an excellent place to research key words. By entering key words into this tool it will give you an idea of the popularity of certain words and offers you alternative key words and phrases.

Once you have a good list of terms, you may want to refine it to call out the strongest terms that have the best potential for sales or traffic conversion. There are several good online research tools available, which can help you decide which words will be most effective for you. Some good examples are WordTracker and Keyword Discovery. These sites may charge a fee for using their database. After reviewing the terms, eliminate the key words that rank poorly or are very unpopular, then prioritize the remaining terms according to search popularity. These terms will become the keywords you will want to focus your initial SEO campaign on.

Always remember that when it comes to key words, you are focusing on optimizing your traffic rather than maximizing it. Setting up the right keyword list for optimization is the cornerstone to a successful web site.

A successful linkbait is one of the fastest and most inexpensive ways to build thousands of good quality backlinks pointing to your site. But here is the best part: it is the way Google wants you to build links.

Let us start by describing the concept of linkbait for those who are not familiar with it. Linkbait refers to the art of creating content with the main purpose of attracting links to your site.

Nothing new, you may be thinking. Linkbait is basically good content, right?

Well in a way it is, but there is more to it than that. Let me start by telling you why linkbait is so popular nowadays amongst Search Engine Optimizers (also known as SEOs.)

A few years ago when SEO professionals wanted to promote a website in the search engines they would do what was working at the moment: reciprocal link exchanges. An SEO would set up a website, put some content on it, and start sending emails to webmasters offering a reciprocal link exchange. If the webmaster accepted both sites would display a link back to the other site.

This used to work well until Google and the rest of the search engines realized that the technique was getting abused and reciprocal links were not anymore an indication of one site\’s popularity.

At this time most SEO practitioners agreed that the best way to achieve Search Engine Rankings was to get one way links pointing to their sites. A one way link was worth a lot more than reciprocal link exchanges. This is when the link buying market boomed, using the Page Rank metric as the main market arbitrager.

So basically all an SEO did was open her wallet and buy as many links as she needed to rank for certain keywords. This worked well for a while but of course it didn\’t take Google long to figure out that these type of links were not an accurate indication of a website\’s popularity.

So Google is now penalizing sites that buy and sell links. Many SEOs and webmasters are complaining about this because they are left without ideas. They think this is unfair.

I personally think that Google has every right to decide what is the best way to decide what a site popularity is. I also agree on the fact that paid links are not an indication of site popularity. So instead of complaining about what doesn\’t work anymore, why don\’t we talk about what does work?

What works now is Linkbait., so how do you create a linkbait?

1. Visit Digg, Reddit, Del.icio.us, Propeller and other popular social media sites and research for stories related to your niche that have become popular in the past.

2. Analyze all these stories and use them as the basis of your brainstorming. You want to understand why these stories were popular amongst these communities.

3. Write your article. Some article formats have better chances of becoming popular in social media sites. For example, Top Ten Lists and How To Articles have proven to work in many different contexts. Often images are also very popular in these sites. You could write something useful, something polemic, something funny, something weird. It doesn\’t matter which angle you pick your article needs to have a special something that will appeal to the audience you are writing to. This is why you need to go through step 1 and 2 very carefully: to know what the audience is looking for, and deliver exactly that.

4. Write a magnetic headline. You can have the best article in the world but no one will even look at it if you don\’t grab their attention. Social media users have a very short attention span and you are lucky if they give you half a second while scanning through your heading. Some examples of magnetic headlines would be: \”The Secret Of [your topic]\”, or \”How To Build [something related to your niche] In 10 Easy Steps\”.

5. Write a magnetic description. If you wrote your headline well enough your users might spare you a few more seconds and read at the description of the article. This can be a sentence or two but you need to write it intelligently. It needs to provoke an action. Ultimately you want the user to vote for your story and also click through and read the full article.

6. Network. Ask a friend to submit the article for you in these sites. Ask your friends to vote for it. All submissions need an initial kickstart in these social media sites to become visible enough so that the rest of the users can decide whether to vote for it or not. Alternatively you can take the time to become very involved in these communities and become a power user. Power user submissions tend to perform a lot better in these network sites than submissions made by unknown users.

That is the backbone of a successful linkbait launch. If your story becomes popular on Digg, it can send up to 100,000 visits to your site in the period of a few hours, so make sure your site and your server are optimized to handle this kind of spiky traffic.

Keep in mind, this traffic usually doesn\’t click on ads. In fact, they don\’t like ads. So make sure your pages are not stuffed with advertising or it will not become popular at all in social media sites.

This also means that you will not make much money from all this traffic. The real benefit of this is the visibility and exposure that your site acquires when it becomes popular in one of these social media communities. Many users bookmark your site and this means you will end up getting links from many webmasters out there who are now familiar with your site.

A successful linkbait launch can get thousands of good quality editorial links that would have cost thousands of dollars to obtain in the link buying market.

Furthermore, Google is absolutely happy with the way you acquired them and it will not result in ranking penalties.

1. Maximize Searchability Through Good Content

To do well in SEO, not only must you get links containing your main keywords in the anchor text, from other websites, you should also link to other webpages within your own website, using your main keywords in the anchor text.

Internal linking refers to linking your home page to your other pages within your website. What you need to do is use your main keyword in the anchor text and create a link pointing to your internal webpage. This is something you can easily do to get better search engine ranking for your online business opportunity and you will be surprised that not many marketers are practicing this nor aware of the benefits. The two most important things to consider is how you anchor your internal links and what phrases you use to link. It is a good thing to link your pages together and you can also make use of a footer by linking to all your most important pages using the appropriate anchor text keyword phrase. You then need to acquire back links for your web pages. In case you are unfamiliar with the \r term back links. A back link is when a website/web page has a link in the form of an anchor \r text of your url pointing to your web page. This in the eyes of the search engines is \r classed as a vote to your web page. The more votes you get from other web pages, the higher \r you will climb in the search engines. However, it is advised that you try and get web pages \r that have a high page rank with a your link pointing back to your web page or site.

Not every website can give you a quality vote. If you get a vote from a website that has a \r high page rank it will be more beneficial to you. Just be careful of websites that can \r actually damage your ability to rank high. Most of the time, these sites are spammy and \r linking to them will harm your rankings!

Following these guidelines you should be well able to boast your keyword optimized pages in \r the search engines. It important to make sure you are on top of the game and your \r competitors.
